About
The Posie Pointelle Top is a romantic top with pointelle textures inspired by vintage lace and pointelle fabrics. Designed with a cropped & oversized fit combined with delicate crochet edges.
The Posie Pointelle Top is worked top-down and started by working 2 lace rectangles that will serve as the saddle shoulders. From here, stitches are picked up and the back is shaped with German Short Rows. Then, stitches are picked up for the front and worked in the same manner. The armholes are shaped with increases.
For the button front version of the top, the front and back are joined together at the underarm and the top is worked back and forth to a cropped length.
For the closed front version of the top, the front and back are joined together at the underarm and the top is worked in the round to a cropped length.
The hem of the top is finished with a crochet scalloped edge.
The stitches from the saddle shoulder are placed back on the needles and the sleeves are shaped with German Short Rows and then worked in the round. The sleeves are finished with the same crochet edge. Next, a folded stockinette neckband is added.
Finally, for the button front version only, each front is finished with a double knit button band. Then, a crochet edge is worked on the right front to serve as button loops for the top closure.
