The Quilted Star Bag is a cozy, creative project bag designed for makers who love to play with fabric. With 5 quilt motifs to choose from — three stars and two checkerboard blocks — this pattern celebrates patchwork in all its charm. There are also four sizes, perfect for storing anything from small notions to large knitting projects. Mix and match your favorite fabrics and stitch a bag that’s as unique as your handmade creations.
Options to choose from:
- 2 views (rectangle base or circle base)
- 4 sizes
- 5 quilt block options
- 2 closure options
- 2 interior pockets
- 2 exterior pockets (1 for each view)
Files
The pattern comes in A4/US letter size to print at home (8 pages).
Alternatively, there is a worksheet to guide you to make a print-free pattern as well as your own custom bag!

Main and lining fabric
Use a woven non-stretch fabric such as; cotton poplin / twill / canvas, quilting cotton, linen and chambray.
Recommended weight: (80-140 gr/m2) | (2.4–4.1 oz/yd²).
Fusible batting (other options explained in the pattern!)
The pattern is designed to be made with fusible batting such as Vlieseline H640.
Some alternatives are: HeatnBond Fusible Fleece Iron-On, Pellon 987F Fusible Fleece.
